Have you installed both Paid membership manager and Advanced multiple profiles? If yes, see the parameters of plug jomsomu in joomla backend and set working mode to "Integrated with Simsu".
If you do not have Paid Membership Manager and only using our extension for Jomosocial profile types, you need to set "Working Mode" of plug jomsomu to "Standalone". Create your profile types in Components >> JomSocial User Categories >> Categories. Go in JomSocial >> Custorm profiles. You will see your profile types in the dropdown. Select one, and define fields for that type.
